Riding Mountain National Park Trails
Riding Mountain National Park sits on the north border
of the Rossburn Municipality and has a variety of hiking trails all within 20
minutes of our municipality! Whether you’re looking for a shorter trail of
moderate intensity or a longer trail with a milder pace, there is sure to be
something for every hiker, horse rider, biker, skier, and snowshoer looking to
get out of the house and enjoy our beautiful nature.
Tilson Lake Trail
The Tilson Lake Trail is 38.5km loop rated moderate to
difficult intensity, with 3 campsites along the way. It passes beside Tilson
Lake, for which it gets its name. This trail may be travelled by foot, bike, or
horse during the spring, summer, and fall. To get to the trailhead take PR 264
north of Rossburn until you reach the park boundary and follow the attached
park road for 250 meters until you see the trailhead.
Central Trail
The Central Trail is 73km one way that goes from the
Deep Lake Warden Station to the Lake Audy Bison Enclosure and is of moderate
intensity. There are 3 campsites along the trail, as well as 6 campsites on
adjoining trails. This trail may be travelled by foot, bike, horse, or carriage
during the spring, summer, and fall. To get to the trailhead take PR 264 north
of Rossburn until you reach the park boundary and follow the attached park road
for 7km until you see the trailhead.
